Instructional Focus

Visualizing patterns created by multiples on the hundreds chart.

 

 

Performance Task

1.    Have students identify the multiples of 2,3,5 and 7.   When crossing out the multiples students should realize that these are composite numbers.

2.    Have students identify the numbers remaining as prime.

 

 

Scoring Guide

Students will be successful in identifying multiples of 2,3,5,7, if they have the same 25 prime numbers remaining on the chart as the teacher does on the screen.

 

 

Essential Skills

Students must understand the terminology of prime, composite, neither and multiples.  They must also be able to compute the multiples of the various numbers using addition, multiplication or through the use of patterns.
