NY State Standards		6.N.12: Solve percent problems involving percent, rate and base
Instructional Focus		Visualizing the percent proportion equation for increased comprehension. The percent given or found is represented as a shaded region in both a circle and a rectangle.
Performance Task		1. Students will observe demonstration using the proportion formula and then write the examples in their notes.
Scoring Guide		After computer demonstration and notes students will try to successfully complete 3 similar problems on their own.
Essential Skills		Students must be able to solve a proportion as well as understand how to round to the nearest cent.
